Social Studies: The Monkey King is from a novel known as "Journey to the West" which is a Chinese adventure novel about the strong and mighty Monkey King who is capable of transforming into humans, travel at an emense speed, able to life more that 100 times his weight, travels in search for Buddhist Sutras. This is a very famous story that is told in China, even a festival is held with events such as walking on a bed of corals and climbing a ladder of knives. |
